We cannot forget that the population of Es Castell, where it is located, enjoys the first sunrise of Spain. Do we get on the roof to receive it?SECTION "ON LOOSE LEG" (PREMIUM VIDEO): The best accommodations always have the privilege of being part of this section of ourYoutube channel which complements the best hotel reviews (the most exclusive) and, as you know, always before on that channel than on the blog (! subscribe!)

Hotel Barceló Hamilton Menorca, a double paradise
It was in our trip to the Coast of Cádiz Light from last year when we discovered that one can still move to paradise without leaving our country. So, when we started looking for possible options for staying in the best area of Menorca that would allow us to move through its main attractions but also have a few days of absolute disconnection and relaxation the solution appeared in the town of Es Castell, the ladito de Mahón, at the entrance to one of the most beautiful bays in the Mediterranean
The Barceló Hamilton Menorca hotel is located in a quiet area on the coast with own free parking where we did not have any problem to park but, in case of filling up, having multiple options in the adjacent streets.
After a quick check-in we arrived at our "home" (cannot have another name). We read before writing this review (how many have we been since we started the blog 10 and a half years ago?) Barceló's presentation of Hamilton Menorca that speaks of "avant-garde design, 1.50m bed, bright rooms, comfort ... "distributed in 160 rooms (6 doubles, 48 superior, 89 superior with sea views, 4 deluxe, 9 junior suites and 4 junior suites with sea views)
We have seen, unfortunately, dozens of descriptions and professional photos that, due to their high expectations, end up disappointing the arriving traveler. !!It is not the case!! The rooms of the Barceló Hamilton Menorca are a real wonder, spacious and (effectively) bright.By the way, on this trip we have discovered that those mattresses that Barceló uses in their beds (the best for us of all we have tried - this discussion we had with our uncles in Madrid recently, haha) are sold on a website called BarcelóBed. There must be a reason.
They have that welcome to which we have "badly used" and with all kinds of details for comfort (32-inch LCD television, good Wi-Fi, coffee maker with capsules, bottles of water renewed every day, slippers, bathrobes ...), the same that we always say that it does not cost so much to have and make a good hotel, an exceptional hotel
The area of bath It also has a modern twist. To one side is a small minibar that always comes in handy to leave a bottle to cool, on the other side is the sink and enough mirrors for personal hygiene. A bathtub / shower and a w.c., both separately and a large closet, solve a differentiated area from the rest of the room, giving both facilities independence
What Paula likes most about these early days ... !! strawberries with chocolate that drive her crazy !! and a bottle to toast on the large terrace that accompanies us
Welcome to the Barceló Hamilton Menorca hotel! A whole week ahead awaits us ...
Relaxation multiplied by four, "Only Adults"
We said in the introduction that the location of the Barceló Hamilton Menorca is ideal to visit the wild beaches of the north or the coves that look like swimming pools in the south, approach Es Fornells and taste the excellent seafood stew from Es Cranc, stand in just 1 hour in Ciutadella or less than 10 minutes from Mahón, see the best sunset in Menorca in Cova d'en Xoroi or discover the Es Grau "Secret" Natural Park. Those who know us know that All our trips also have those so necessary days of relaxation and disconnection away from routes, what we did not expect was that the possibilities multiplied by four being one of the few "Only Adults" from the island thought to relax.
Outdoor pool, heated and flotarium
It goes without saying that Barcelo Hamilton Menorca has outdoor pool on its lower floor, close to the restaurant and the main lobby, but completely isolated from them. The use of palm trees and plants together with their own isolation provide it with a perfect relaxing place where you can request the use of a Balinese bed if you wish
Paula also took the opportunity to sign up for one of the "stretching" classes available each morning
But there is not everything left since at the top it has a climatized pool to enjoy the coolest or even if one of the days of your stay did not make good weather. It can be completely covered! Ideal for those situations. And another surprise? Going down some stairs located in this area you reach the call flotarium, a saltwater cabin with a relaxing atmosphere with different colors.
All the facilities are completely renovated following that avant-garde design of which it boasts
U-Wellness, the center of experiences
For two people like us, faithful advocates of the experiences above the visits, discovering that every day you continue betting more on innovation and the careful appearance of a hotel is a luxury. This is the case of the U-Wellness center that is going down some stairs of the main lobby
To the traditional fitness center, here with the most modern machines, it joins an area with several types of saunas, from the Finnish to a hamman, through a sensation shower or a bucket or cold shower
The "crown jewel" is 3 o'clock double treatment rooms fully equipped to enjoy massages of all kinds
And here the news begins. Massages? No, we talk about experiences. From € 39, suggestive names like Golf Experience, Sea Experience, Healty Experience or Premium Experience They complement massages and facial and body treatments with the best Menorcan gastronomy getting our attention. We will try the Golf and Healty
Finished the treatment of about 30 minutes as a couple, it is time to go up to try the "sphere of Mahonés cheese and crispy ham accompanied by ointment with fennel"of the Golf Experience or the"osmotized pineapple with ginger and Martini bianco pipette accompanied with celery, cucumber and apple smoothie"
Appetizing? Well, we still haven't discovered the biggest secret that Barceló Hamilton Menorca hides
Terrace, who wants a beach?
Although it is a saying since the beach is always a pleasure, the Barceló Hamilton Menorca defines itself as a "Urban Beach Hotel", a bet that combines that more personalized experience of being a "adults only" hotel and maximum comfort with a high component of Holiday aspect with privileged views in an urban area a few minutes from the restaurants and walking area of Mahón and Cales Fonts.
We are in one of the most impressive rooftop or rooftop we have stayed in on our trips, not only of wonderful views, but with solarium, whirlpools, offer juices or fruit smoothies and the most absolute relaxation. Here you can also enjoy the "gastronomic" part of the U-Wellness experiences
The terrace of the Barcelo Hamilton Menorca is located on the 5th floor of the hotel and possibly for us it is already that favorite corner to which we will return one day
B Moments, all plans in a Balinese bed
More surprises we have found! From Monday to Sunday from 10:30 to 13:00 and from 16:30 to 20:00 and from € 55 per couple, Barceló has implemented another new concept. How to define it? Something like "All the plans you can imagine without moving from a Balinese bed". B Love, B Sweet, B Beauty or B Cool or what is the same to enjoy champagne and strawberries, a chocolate brownie and some tea tonics or even private massages accompanied by cocktails.
We could not refuse such a proposal. They say that you only live once ... here we would not mind dying! LOL
If last year was in the Royal Hideaway Sancti Petri where we first discovered the so-called Wellness, Barcelo Hamilton Menorca is not far behind in that bet
Blue Sky Bar, the most exclusive rooftop we have visited
The sunset comes and the rooftop atmosphere is transformed. It is at that time when traveling as a couple or with friends makes more sense
The avant-garde renovation of Barceló Hamiltón now makes perfect sense and that is when that concept 'cool' or "chic" appears, wanting to be a reference throughout the island
The impressive rooftop becomes an essential place in the purest New York style (like that 230 Fifth or Standard we visited) where DJ sessions, cocktails and an enviable atmosphere are presented
Fruit smoothie or the famous Tea Tonic, Paula? I think I'll try the latter
It is not our case since our stay was in May but it seems that the B Moments have evolved in the Summer months at B Party, B Music and even at the birth of the Menorca Slow-Festival, a combination that moves far away from the Ibiza concept betting on cocktails, music and rest in the idyllic enclave that is the Blue Sky Bar
If yes, also enjoy an outdoor bubble bath accompanied by a cocktail until dusk. Ains, we drop the tear
Gastronomy for all tastes
If there is something for which Barceló have always stood out (in addition to its excellent mattresses) it is for its careful gastronomic offer in its bars and restaurants, always taking advantage of the excellent local cuisine that we usually have in Spain (we have not yet tried a Barceló outside). We list all the possibilities
Sa Cuina Buffet Restaurant (Breakfast)
It is the hotel's main restaurant, next to reception and the pool and right in front of the main lobby.
Your breakfast offer is absolutely complete. From pastries, sausages and tables of local cheeses to that commitment to fruits and juices of all kinds.
We do not miss anything, not even that service of tortillas or eggs where a friendly chef prepared them to your liking
Sa Cuina Buffet Restaurant (Dinner)
This Buffet restaurant also serves dinner included in the half-board or full-board meal and as in the morning, it has all kinds of international and local dishes
Some nights are themed and we could enjoy an oriental, for example, with sushi or fried noodles. These nights also have other types of dishes for those who do not feel "excited" about the subject
About desserts, ask Paula, hahaha ... Which one better!
Sa Casa à la carte restaurant
An old Menorcan house in Es Castell that is now part of the facilities of the Barceló Hamilton Menorca has become an excellent vermutería that we tried one of the days of our stay
An entree of a kind of olives that exploded in the mouth with the taste of "vermouth", homemade Menorcan croquettes, a soup that we do not even know how to describe it ...! Yummm!
... but especially two dishes: a hake with spinach and cherry tomato vinaigrette with pine nuts and some cheeks with dehydrated tomatoes that only describe it makes our mouths water
Whether or not guests, you can access this restaurant that for us became one of the best gastronomic offers of our entire trip
Sa Cova à la carte restaurant
Open in summer (so we still couldn't enjoy it in May). It is a beachside restaurant with an outdoor terrace specializing in fish, rice and stew with an excellent wine list from what we have read.
Snack Bar Sa Caseta
Hammock or Balinese bed service as well as a terrace, available between 10 and 18, which presents an extensive menu of snacks, cakes, cocktails, combined and fruit smoothies
One afternoon we took the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing moment on the pool terrace and it is well worth it
Of course, it also has water, soft drinks and even some types of salads
Break fast in the room
Life is full of whims, right? And we always like to try some more exclusive ones. I think it is not necessary to describe it with these photos
As we saw the photos to prepare this article Paula dropped a tear, not only for the extraordinary breakfast with all kinds of products (even mussels toast) but for the extraordinary views of Mahón Bay
Barceló Hamilton Menorca, the first dawn of Spain
Halfway between placement for enjoy a tea, cocktail or combination or for entertainment, the Lobby Bar Es Mirador It is the first great space that you find as soon as you enter the hotel
With stunning windows that leave the best views of the sea, at night this place becomes the heart of entertainment and live music of the Barceló Menorca Hamilton where you can also enjoy the last drink of the night
Although we saw more the vacation aspect of a couple trip, we know that the hotel also has a slope designed for business people, with a large room of 200m2 equipped with the latest technologies that also takes advantage of the large exterior light offered by the location of the accommodation
One of those curiosities with which one stays. Did you know that the first sunrays of Spain in a population appear in Es Castell? If we add to that a terrace like the one available in this place, the entrance of the port of Mahón offers one of those sunrises that are not forgotten
The price? Very variable depending on the season of the year in which we are, may have prices in May or October from € 119! until the 200-300 € of the Menorcan August. Can check availability and prices of Barceló Hamilton Menorca Adults Only for your stayROMANTIC PACKAGE:
During our stay and only available in May, June, September and October, there was for 89.50 EUR the available option of "Romantic Package" which includes accommodation in a double room, breakfast in the room on the first day, use of a full-day Balinese bed, tasting menu in the à la carte restaurant on the first day for 2 people, romantic moment in the room (rose petals, cava and strawberries ), access to unlimited U-Wellness 2 days and 10% discount on treatments
There are also the options of "Gastronomic Package" (95 EUR) in May and October, "Relax & Beauty Getaway" (124 EUR) in May and October and "VIP getaway" (279 EUR) in July and August
After an extraordinary week it is difficult to put a paste to an accommodation designed to the last detail where the rooftop, location, rooms with those comfortable mattresses that we are accustomed to or the excellent and varied gastronomic offer stand out especially. Being strict, we may be able to add a somewhat small car park (unavoidable because of its location) or high prices already in the summer season (logical on the other hand). An excellent option for those looking for the best possible experience on their holidays in Menorca.
