JRPASS, essential?

One of the doubts that comes to every traveler who goes free to Japan is to buy or not the JAPAN RAIL PASS which gives us access to all transport by buses, boats and, above all, trains, from the Japan Rail company (JR). There is for 7 days, 14 days and 21 days.

This PASS can only be taken out by tourists. In our case we have processed it through the HIS travel agency and in two days we had it at home

With the bonds that we will have to change they sent us brochures of their operation, offices of each station in Japan and some extra information.

But, it is essential to take this bonus? We have made our particular assessment. We bought the bond for the 2 when the Euro-Yen exchange was at 164.01 yen per euro. We took two bonuses from 14 days To which we had to add 13 euros of shipping and handling. The total price was 563 Euros exactly. They had to be amortized. We have used the same change to see if we have succeeded. We will also activate the JRPASS on day 4 of travel

We will distinguish 2 types of paths. Those that do not require a reservation and those that have a reservation option. Let's go there…

We have done an excel COMPLETELY DETAILED with all the routes we will do both without reservation and with her. How to put one by one here would be hell we put the global summary:

UNBOUNDED TRAYS FROM DAY 4 TO DAY 17AMOUNT
TOTAL NON-RESERVED TRAJECTS (2 PEOPLE)473,66 €
TRAJECTS WITH RESERVATION FROM DAY 4 TO DAY 17AMOUNT
TOTAL RATES WITH RESERVATION (2 PEOPLE)349,39 €

Among all the routes the most prominent are those of Kyoto - Okayama - Hiroshima in Shinkasen (not Nozomi, which is unique that does not include the JRPASS) where they are almost € 80, that of Hiroshima - Himeji back another almost € 60, the Takayama - Nagoya - Odawara which is another € 90 and the round trip to Nikko another € 60.
The reservations on journeys greatly increase the amount with respect to going without a reservation.

CONCLUSIONS:

- As we have proposed the trip and with the routes booked in advance, it is very clear that the JRPASS is very profitable, because 563 € we travel in something that would be worth 823 €
- In the case of not booking routes, maybe it wouldn't be so clearly profitable
- ... but there is one concept hardly quantifiable that we believe is the one who clearly opts for the balance and is the COMFORT to have the bonus, NO to have to do TAILS at the stations (only for reservations) and DO NOT HAVE TIME LOSSES Of course, if you buy it,! DON'T MISS IT! because they don't give it to you again.

a greeting

Isaac
